Professional Biography

Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Verma, professionally known as Dr. A. D. Verma, currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, School of Bioengineering and Biosciences, Lovely Professional University, Punjab, India.

His previous professional experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Aryabhatt Institute of Technology under Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, Research Scientist and Scientific Officer at a nanotechnology start-up incubated at AIC-JNU Foundation for Innovation, and ICMR Research Fellow at the Special Centre for Nanoscience, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

His academic foundation represents a distinctive integration of physical, biological and computational sciences. His research works at the intersection of nanobiotechnology, nanobioinformatics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, computational biology and molecular modelling — with a primary biomedical focus on integrated approaches for cancer and diabetes theranostics.

His experimental expertise spans synthesis and functionalisation of fluorescent quantum dots and nanomaterials, FRET-based systems, nanobioconjugation, aptasensors, nanobiosensors and environmental remediation materials. Computationally, he works with R, Python, Biopython, Bioconductor, Perl, molecular docking, molecular dynamics and density functional theory.
